Customized solution for waste management and biochar economy (application and carbon credits).

In India, organic waste forms a significant portion of total waste generated. Around 50–60% of municipal solid waste is biodegradable, primarily comprising food and garden waste. Agricultural waste contributes approximately 350–400 million tonnes annually, with 70–80% being organic and biodegradable, including crop residues and animal manure. Forestry waste contributes about 60 million tonnes, of which around 60–70% is biodegradable, including leaves, bark, and sawdust. Combined, these sectors generate vast quantities of biodegradable organic waste, which, if managed sustainably through composting or biochar production, can support soil health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Efficient utilization remains a major challenge and opportunity.

Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced by heating organic waste (such as agricultural, municipal, and forest residues) in a controlled, oxygen-limited environment, a process known as pyrolysis. It is a highly porous substance that enhances soil fertility, improves water retention, and sequesters carbon, helping to mitigate climate change.

At Soham Carbon Innovators (SCI), we specialize in transforming organic waste into different grades of biochar using pyrolysis reactors. Our process ensures efficient waste conversion, reducing environmental impact while producing different grades of biochar suited for agriculture, landscaping, and construction applications.

In addition to biochar production, ECI provides Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)  and Carbon Credit analysis services. These services help businesses evaluate the economic feasibility and environmental impact of their waste management projects. By partnering with SCI, companies can adopt sustainable practices, reduce their carbon footprint, and benefit from biochar’s versatile applications in soil health, carbon credits, and beyond.
